The Surgery Department at Na Františku Hospital has a new chief of staff. Dr. Zdeněk Šebesta, who has worked at the hospital continuously for more than thirty years, has been appointed to lead the department.
Dr. Šebesta joined Na Františku Hospital after graduating from medical school in 1994. For the past three years, he has served as deputy chief of the surgical department.
In his professional practice, he specializes primarily in proctology and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery. He has long served as the head of the NNF proctology team and is regarded by the professional community as a respected authority in the field of modern proctological treatment—particularly in connection with the introduction of the Long method and the STARR procedure (stapler-assisted rectal resection) into clinical practice. To date, he has trained more than 350 surgeons from across the Czech Republic in this field, and his patient cohort is among the largest in the country.
We congratulate Dr. Zdeněk Šebesta on his appointment and wish him every success in both his professional and personal life.
