The Deputy Mayor and the Mayor of Prague 1 officially opened a new testing site at the Palackého Health Center

Na Františku Hospital has opened a new testing site for the public in the Palackého Polyclinic building in Prague 1. Blood draws and the collection of other biological samples take place here every weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with no appointment necessary. The wheelchair-accessible facility is designed for both adult and pediatric patients, including infants—whether they have a doctor’s referral or are self-paying.

By establishing a testing site outside the hospital grounds, the Prague 1 district aims to make laboratory services more accessible in other parts of the city center as well. The new facility was set up at the Palackého Health Center, which is owned by the district and has long served primarily local residents. Locating the testing site here was therefore a logical step.

“Access to quality healthcare right in the city center is a priority for us. By opening this new testing site, we are expanding the services of Na Františku Hospital to bring them closer to the people—whether they are local residents, seniors, families with children, or working professionals. I am glad that we were able to utilize the space at the Palackého Polyclinic, which is an established healthcare facility not only for residents of Prague 1,” said Alexandra Udženija, Deputy Mayor of the City of Prague for Social and Health Affairs.

“The testing site at the Palacký Polyclinic is not just a new service; it is an example of thoughtful healthcare planning. Because it is part of Na Františku Hospital, which is operated by the city district, we know exactly what standards of quality and expertise we guarantee. Healthcare should not only be high-quality but also accessible—without waiting, without barriers, and close to home. This is precisely the path Prague 1 has taken,” said Terezie Radoměřská, Mayor of Prague 1.

The total cost of setting up the testing site was just under 1.4 million crowns. Prague 1 provided one million crowns to purchase a vehicle for transporting laboratory samples and to expand the laboratory information system. Na Františku Hospital invested 370,000 crowns in equipping the testing site.

“The revitalization of the Palacký Health Center and the establishment of a testing site operated by Na Františku Hospital are part of a strategic plan to develop urban healthcare and strengthen our hospital’s role within the services that Prague 1 offers its residents. By utilizing this space, we are giving the public the opportunity to receive healthcare directly from our district’s medical facility, even outside the hospital building. “Our goal is to bring quality care closer to residents while effectively utilizing Prague 1’s facilities for the benefit of the public,” explained Michal Müller, Prague 1 Councilor for Health.

“We believe that this service will be welcomed not only by residents of Prague 1, but also by people who work in the area or visit it regularly. A testing site operated by a hospital owned by the city district will provide them with a guarantee of quality, reliability, and professional expertise they can turn to with confidence,” said David Erhart, director of Na Františku Hospital.

Laboratory tests are performed by an accredited hospital laboratory, which provides testing in the fields of clinical biochemistry, immunochemistry, hematology, and immunohematology. Members of the public can have their blood sugar and cholesterol levels checked here, as well as their liver and kidney function, levels of inflammatory markers such as CRP, or thyroid function. Tests can be performed even without a doctor’s referral. In such cases, fees are charged according to the current price list.
