From April, patients in the center of Prague will have another option for blood collection or submitting biological samples for laboratory testing. Nemocnice Na Františku is opening a new collection point at Palackého Polyclinic, which will operate without the need for an appointment. Patients simply need to arrive during opening hours.
The collection point at Palackého Polyclinic in Prague 1 will commence operations on April 1, 2025, and will serve all who require laboratory testing. Patients with a doctor's referral will have their tests covered by their health insurance, while self-payers can choose from a selection of laboratory tests and pay for them themselves.
All samples will be analyzed by the accredited laboratory of Nemocnice Na Františku, which utilizes modern diagnostic equipment and meets the highest quality standards. “We anticipate that patients with referrals from general practitioners and outpatient specialists from Palackého Polyclinic will primarily utilize the collection services. However, patients with referrals from any other doctor or from another healthcare facility can also, of course, use the services of the collection point,” stated Michal Müller, Prague 1 Councillor for Health.
The collection point is located on the 3rd floor of Palackého Polyclinic, entrance B, and for easier navigation, the route will be marked with directional signs. Collections will take place every weekday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
April will be a trial period, and from May 2025, the collection point will transition to full operation. The expansion of collection services to Palackého Polyclinic is another step towards improving the accessibility of healthcare in the center of Prague.
