Head Nurse Romana Jelínková Jehličková from the surgical department at Na Františku Hospital took second place in the prestigious “Angel Among Healthcare Professionals” competition. The competition, now in its fifth year, aims to recognize the work of doctors, nurses, caregivers, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals.
The final took place on August 24 at the Dr. J. Čížek Municipal Theater in Náchod. The fourteen finalists, who represented various healthcare professions, showcased not only their professional expertise but also their conversational skills during interviews with well-known personalities in front of the audience. The evening was hosted by Karel Voříšek, and the atmosphere was enhanced by performances from well-known artists such as Anna Julie Slováčková, Kamila Nývltová, Martin Chodúr, and Petr Kolář.
Romana Jelínková Jehličková, B.S., who has dedicated her entire nursing career to patient care at Na Františku Hospital, impressed the jury not only with her professional expertise but also with the compassion and empathy she demonstrated during the competition.
The jury consisted of prominent figures from the worlds of culture, society, and politics, including former First Lady Livia Klausová, who was participating in the competition for the first time and praised the professionalism of all the finalists. “It is a great honor for me to be part of this competition. All the healthcare workers who participate are winners, and their work deserves admiration and recognition,” said Livia Klausová after the results were announced.
The winner of the competition was Dr. Petr Zeithaml, head of the one-day surgery department at Beroun Hospital; third place went to Dr. Jana Zapletalová, a psychologist with the nonprofit organization ZA SKLEM.
The "Angel Among Healthcare Workers" competition highlights the importance and invaluable contribution of healthcare workers to all of us. Proceeds from the event will support several social projects, including day care centers and charitable foundations.
