We have reduced waiting times for orthopedic procedures: Up to four months for total joint replacement

The Orthopedic Department at Na Františku Hospital, known for its excellent care, has reduced waiting times for the most in-demand surgical procedures, such as arthroscopy and total joint replacements.

“We are able to perform arthroscopic procedures within two to three weeks of a patient’s visit to our outpatient clinic, total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements within four months, and other elective procedures within one to two months,” explains Dr. Miroslav Sinkule, Chief of Orthopedics.

Patients have access to comprehensive diagnostic services right at the hospital, including X-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans, supplemented by follow-up inpatient rehabilitation care for a more effective recovery. With state-of-the-art operating rooms and an inpatient ward, the orthopedic department provides top-tier care that is popular not only among elite athletes.

The department also specializes in advanced joint replacement techniques. For slender patients, when medically indicated, minimally invasive hip replacement is an option. For the shoulder joint, in appropriate cases, resurfacing can be performed to restore the surface of the humeral head.

The most commonly performed arthroscopic procedures include surgery on the shoulder, elbow, ankle, and knee joints, particularly meniscus repairs, cruciate ligament reconstructions, and cartilage reconstructions. These procedures are also performed on a minimally invasive basis as part of same-day care.

Patients can schedule a consultation regarding surgical procedures by calling the orthopedic clinic at 222 801 301 on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information about the services offered, please visit www.nnfp.cz.
