Clinical Pharmacy

Clinical pharmacy is a dynamically developing field with a multidisciplinary scope, forming an integral part of patient care.

A clinical pharmacist, a specialist in Clinical Pharmacy, provides consultative services in both inpatient and outpatient settings with the aim of ensuring safe, effective, and personalized patient care. Maximizing the benefits of optimal pharmacotherapy leads to a reduction in the incidence of adverse effects and associated cost-effectiveness.

As part of the multidisciplinary team of the healthcare facility, clinical pharmacy contributes not only to optimizing pharmacological patient care but also to ensuring safe operations through supervision of drug handling.

An integral part of the department's activities includes lecturing on state-of-the-art pharmacotherapy for healthcare professionals.

The department is part of the Working Group for Pharmacotherapy in Obese Patients, under the auspices of the Czech Professional Society of Clinical Pharmacy of ČLS JEP, focusing on medication adjustment for patients after bariatric procedures.
