The hospital’s acting director, JUDr. Alena Hanilcová, has decided as of today to step down from the position shehas held since January 19, 2026,pursuant to a resolution of the Prague 1 City Council.
She decided to take this step for family and health reasons. Her tenure was intended from the outset to be temporary, with the aim of ensuring the hospital’s continued operation following a previous change in leadership and stabilizing the situation within the organization.
Effective April 1, 2026, Jan Duben, B.A., currently the health policy coordinator for the Prague 1 Municipal District Office, will temporarily take over the management of Na Františku Hospital.
Jan Duben has more than fifteen years of experience in healthcare facility management and public administration. In the past, he served, among other roles, as head of the director’s office at Na Bulovce Hospital, where he managed human resources, legal, and organizational matters and helped lead large teams. He also has experience at the ministerial level and in project management within the healthcare sector. His task will be to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital and to continue stabilizing the situation until a new permanent director is appointed, who will be selected through a competitive selection process.
The Prague 1 City Council would also like to thank JUDr. Alena Hanilcová for her work and dedication. This move does not mark the end of her tenure at Na Františku Hospital; she will remain part of the organization and continue to lead the legal department.
