Ultrasound (sonogram)

At our radiology department, we perform ultrasound (sonographic) examinations of the tissues and organs of the human body. These are non-invasive examinations that use high-frequency ultrasound waves.

We use ultrasound to examine

  • organs of the abdominal cavity
  • thyroid gland
  • arteries and veins of the limbs and neck
  • soft tissues (muscles, tendons)

Waiting time

The current wait time for an ultrasound exam is approximately 14 days from the date of scheduling. In urgent cases, at the request of the attending physician, we perform the exam immediately.

Preparing for the exam

You must make an appointment in advance for the examination. The patient should bring a properly completed referral form from the referring physician.

Abdominal Ultrasound

It is best to eat a non-gas-producing diet for four days before the exam. On the day of the exam, the patient must not eat, drink, smoke, take any medication, or chew anything starting at midnight.

Other tests

No preparation is necessary for other ultrasound examinations.
